    A few examples and possibilities: Mary, Queen of Scots--19 years locked up must have been brutal. Or Queen Sophia Dorothea of Celle who was locked up for 30 years before she died in captivity. Or Edward II who died at the hands of his Queen and her lover, with a red hot metal rod forced somewhere that the sun don't shine. I dare say that many "guests" in the Tower of London would qualify.

    idk about the MOST but 'Dracula' or Vlad 'the impaler' was severely tortured for like yrs of his life when he was a kid (10 i think), when he was taken hostage during a war and wasnt given back till he was about 13. it explains why he was so mentally deranged.

    Sim Kissel would definitely be a candidate, a French jew who escaped Auschwitz. He wrote a book about his experience called Pendu à Auschwitz, maybe Hung in Auschwitz in English. It is a good read and you will be stunned by what he went through, and survived.
