My neighbour lost the combination to her resettable bike lock. Is there any way to find the number short of calling a locksmith?

Contact the lock manufacture thru their website and ask them. They may have a method to determine the current combination. Even if they have a method, it may not be easy to use. I can tell you from experience that you might just give up and by a new one instead.
