Question

Help answer this question below.

My best friend and I support different political parties, so when it's time to vote she tells me to vote her way and if I say no she gets mad and gives me an hour lecture on how wrong I am. Do I lie and tell her I voted her way, so she'll shut up?

No. I think you should use this opportunity to set ''boundaries''. Tell her that while she can use her vote the way she feels fit, you can use yours however you choose too. It's really none of her business how you vote, in fact it's usually considered rude to ask someone.
It might be difficult and awkward to do, but next time she asks or starts to discuss it, tell her you're not prepared to and walk away if she ignores your request to change the subject.

Don't lie, you're entitled to your opinion and your freedom. Just consider smile to yourself and consider that neither one of your votes matter if you're voting against each other. :) Plus, what kind of a friend doesn't respect your opinion when it differs from hers?

no you just hold up your hand and tell her to talk to it ...because the rest of you ain't listening or better still get your political parties election posters and wave them at her or get a t/shirt made up saying who you voted for ... anything to piss her off...lol

If she's a Republican, take her informed lead and carefully follow her voting instructions.

If she's a Democrat, tell her you refuse to take part in the destruction of the USA.

To keep your friend happy I would just say that I will vote her way, and keep the peace between us. After the election is over, candidates are going to do what ever it is that they are going to do and many times they do the opposite of what it was that they were going to do anyway. But hopefully you two have still remain friends.

Don't lie. Everyone has to vote for who is best for them and who is supporting the future they want to see. Different people have different ideas about what is ideal. I'd talk to her and let her know that the way she behaves is not okay and that this is a democracy, not follow the leader.
