Is it ok to allow a 17 year old girl to stay home alone for the weekend with a 17 year old male "family friend" ? She is

    If you trust both of them, then yes, if you trust your daughters judgement then yes. If you trust him then yes. Would you be asking the question if they were both female/male. Would you be asking the question if your child was the male staying at a girls house.

    I'm curious to know what the other part of your question was.

    But to answer the first part of your question, it depends on how much you trust them--I suppose. They could be two of the greatest kids in the world with all the best qualities you could ask for. But they are still teenagers and still liable to "break the rules".

    I would not let them stay alone for the weekend. Even if they are very good friends, things sometimes have ways of getting out of control and what we don't wish can happen.
