  • I can speak from the figure skating point of view only, however I am guessing it's slightly relative. As a figure skater it is much more beneficial to begin skating YOUNG, however, there are cases where people find their talent later in life. I would say, as a coach, that you are hard pressed to compete in figure skating, if you want to be at a national level, if you started later than 13. There are people out there that will rove me wrong - but with the way the sport is developing ... you want to start young. DO NOT LET THIS STOP YOU FROM ATTACKING YOUR DREAMS THOUGH!!!! I personally say GO FOR IT!
  • im 28 lol.ive been thinking about it since i was 14.but i thought i was too old.Well let me tell u,if i had only started i would have 14 years experience by now.so please,jut skate and see.U never know.Skate and see.have fun.u might even get the chance to compete if u skate everyday.not me though,lol.but i will start skating for fun.
