  • His word vs. your word. He may have seen you fastening the belt as he was approaching your vehicle, they do have cameras on most patrol cars so consider if video evidence may be brought into play. Good luck!
  • pay the 140 bucks and get it deferred. its not a moving violation i dont think...
  • I need to clarify first: Are you saying that you -didn't- have it on while driving, a cop pulled you over, saw you didn't have it on, walked over to your car... then once he was at your window, you had put it on again, but he gave you the ticket for not having a seatbelt on while driving? If that's the case, you deserve the ticket and can't / shouldn't try to beat it... ***** If you honestly had it on the whole time but the cop gave you a ticket anyway, then protest it in your local court and see what happens *shrugs* I'm not really sure what either side could do to prove themselves unless there is video footage / photographic evidence of whether or not you had it on while driving... But if you protest it at least you have a chance of beating it - that's the only way to beat any ticket really *shrugs*
  • i have never paid for a seatbelt ticket and i'm 29. i wear it sometimes but not all the time. send the ticket in and plead not guilty.ALWAYS plead not guilty. then when your pre-trial is set call and cancle that morning with any dumb exuse. when it is rescheduled shoe up and the cop won't be there they only go to court once and the da and judge can't do much with a person vs. a piece of paper at a trial.THROWN OUT no one to stand for the prosecution. : ) not a waste of time cuz it's only one appearance!
