I drove a lot of these in my old job so I'm trying to recall what that light was...
I think it was for the brake. It means apply the brake before you shift. If the light comes on, then the shifter won't shift out of park. If you softly try to shift into drive, see that light, and press the brake you will feel the switch inside the shifter as it releases.
