My cats did this too... They would always go back to the same places as long as they could smell that they'd been there before. If you can stand to be without it, try removing the lamp for awhile. Once he has gotten used to the litter box again (and forgotten about the lamp), try bringing it back in... Don't forget to spray it with lysol to help with the smell... He can still smell it even if you can't!

You're reading My male kitten likes to "go" on the base of my lamp and its cords. I have tried a couple things but I can't seem to break this behavior. He holds it until he can get to the cords. Any suggestions?

Both are good suggestions. How old is this little guy? He may be ready for neutering...sounds like he is spraying.
