He got the 1st out and after throwing 2 wild pitches in the inning the run scored on a Sac. fly. The out was made before the run scored. So if you count the 1/3 inning on July 31, 1989 and the 2/3 inning on May 7, 1990, it actually comes to 42 consecutive scoreless innings.
