  • It is possible for one limb to be slightly longer than its opposite side, but a full inch length difference on a foot is not normal. As long as it is not creating problems outside of fitting shoes, it is not likely unhealthy either. If it is a LEG that is longer, that is slightly more plausible for a whole inch difference. This magnitude of difference is not normal. But usually it can be corrected by wearing a platform shoe on the shorter leg to make up the difference. This can lead to pelvic joint problems if left untreated, but surgery is quite dangerous and best reserved for cases that are creating serious problems.
  • My left foot is one-inch longer too. Getting shoes is a problem. I'd feel better if it was only 1/4" or 1/2", but a whole inch is a lot. The difference got bigger as I grew. So I'm not the only one with this situation. AB always seems to help me feel better. Thanks for posting.
