Jesus never claimed to be God, or his son for that matter.

How is he God when he says:

"I can of mine own self do NOTHING . . ." JOHN 5:30

HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE HEREAFTER:

"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, NEITHER THE SON, but the Father " MARK 13:32

HE WAS IGNORANT OF THE SEASONS:

'And seeing a fig tree afar of having leaves, he came if happily he might find any thing there on. and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, FOR THE TIME OF FIGS WAS NOT YET." MARK 11:13

IMAGINE A "GOD" BEING TEMPTED by THE DEVIL
"Where he (Jesus) stayed forty days, being tempted by Satan" MARK 1:13

God being tempted by the devil? Please, no.

This is why Islam accepts Jesus as a glorios prophet not God.
    Peace.

The key word is "claimed". Jesus never said the exact words
" I Am God." Islam believes God has no partners. He acts alone.

The essence of Islam is expressed in the phrase "La ilaha illa Allah," meaning "There is no deity but Allah." "And your God is One God; there is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful" (Qur'an 2:163).
    ----------
When God ordains a matter, He merely says, "Be" and it is so. "The similitude of Jesus before God is as that of Adam. He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be!" And he was" (3:59). In Islam, Jesus is regarded as a human prophet and messenger of God, not part of God Himself.

Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified. It was the plan of Jesus’ enemies to crucify him, but God saved him and raised him up to Him. And the likeness of Jesus was put over another man. Jesus’ enemies took this man and crucified him, thinking that he was Jesus.

Neither Muhammad nor Jesus came to change the basic doctrine of the belief in one God, brought by earlier prophets, but rather to confirm and renew it.

Muslims also believe that God revealed a holy book to Jesus called the Injeel, some parts of which may be still available in the teachings of God to Jesus in the New Testament. But this does not mean that Muslims believe in the Bible we have today because it is not the original scriptures that were revealed by God. They underwent alterations, additions, and omissions. This was also said by the Committee charged with revising The Holy Bible (Revised Standard Version). This Committee consisted of thirty-two scholars who served as members of the Committee. They secured the review and counsel of an Advisory Board of fifty representatives of the co-operating denominations.

The name of Jesus (Prophet Issa) is mentioned 26 times in Quran, more than that of Prophet Mohd (peace be upon Him). However, muslims believe after Jesus (Prophet Issa), God sent another prophet as Prophet Mohd (peace be upon Him) to save the world. People those followed Jesus became Christians and those followed the teachings of Prophet Mohd (Peace be upon Him) became Muslims.

Jesus Himself never claimed to be God. He came in human form and lived as human until His death. It is His resurrection from the death, ascention to the Heaven makes Him son of God.

Its also in the bible that jesus was told "you are good" and he said "why do you say I am good? Only God is good!" This proves the islamic claim. God is one, he has no partners, far exhalted is he to have a son. How simple is that? Pure monotheism.

18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.

If he was God never in a billion years would he have said that.

Muslims don't believe that the Bible is in it's original form. They believe that Jesus was a prophet but the Bible was changed to say he was God. Muslims also believe that God is too great to be in a form like a human; that he is so great our minds can not imagine or hold his concept.

Where was this statement recorded? Give me chapter and verse. Jesus never calls himself GOD. He calls himself a prophet and the Son of GOD. Jesus also refers to god as the father through out the Gospels. There is no scripture stating “ Jesus is God” many scriptures stating “Jesus the son of GOD”.

In John 10.36 below, Jesus is speaking

36: Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37: If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38: But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Jesus clearly states that he is the son and refers to GOD as father..

In Mark 3.16 GOD identifies Jesus as his son

16: And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John 16:23 Jesus tells us not to pray to him but to pray to the father in his name
23: And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

There is no higher authority to identify Jesus as the son other than GOD and Jesus himself.
Additional scripture identifies that Jesus is a man filled with the Spirit of GOD, which allows GOD to act through him. This is what is meaning of the "father in me and I in him". Jesus teaches that the filling of the Spirit and thus becoming a Son of GOD is available to all who believe.

False teaching not the scripture has lead people to believe that Jesus is GOD. This false teaching began even during the time of the apostles the First John 4:2 States:

2: Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Clearly John is stating that one who says that Jesus is a man (flesh) is of god, one who says that Jesus is not a man (GOD) is of the anti-Christ

Job 25:4-6 (New King James Version)

4 How then can man be righteous before God?
Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman?
5 If even the moon does not shine,
And the stars are not pure in His sight,
6 How much less man, who is a maggot,
And a son of man, who is a worm?”

(this was God speaking. Can u imagine God calling himself a worm?!)

"Why does Islam accept Jesus as a good prophet when it is recorded that Jesus claimed to be God?" ...

The Holy Bible is clear in it's prophetic words regarding those who deny Christ Jesus ...

"There will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them - bringing swift destruction on themselves." - 2 Peter 2:1

" and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world." - 1 John 4:3

    ... etc.

Muslims DENY Christ Jesus ... and God's Holy Word which was written about him ... and accept a constructed and manufactured story which was written 700 or so years AFTER the death/resurrection of Christ Jesus in it's place ... and therefore, are justly defined as "Antichrists" ...

NOW, this doesn't mean that we, as Christians, should not love them ... WE ARE CALLED TO SHOW CHRIST JESUS' LOVE TO THE WORLD! ... but we, as Christians, must stand for truth ... and expose false teachings and false prophecies for what they are: LIES.

    Thank you.

To put it simply, Islam beleives that the Christians altered the SCriptures to elevate jesus to the position of God. Of course, even a cursory study of New Testament textual criticism shows that the New Testament has not been altered at all from the time it was written, which was by those who knew Jesus, at the time when hundreds of others who also knew Him could have refuted anything they said, had it been inaccurate. Yet, over 500 saw the risen Christ on one occasion. Christ trained trusted followers to record His words. According to Hebrew Law (and Islamic law), you must have at least two witnesses to make a statement stand up in court. Jesus had 12 "star" witnesses, his apostles, then 70 others in the inner circle, then hundreds of others who witnessed all or part of His ministry and saw His miracles. Then Muhammad arrives on the scene 500 years and more afterwards, and claims that he has better knowledge of Jesus than those who knew Him personally. And Muhammad had no witnesses to his "revelations". Not one. And while the New Testament text is attestable to within 50 years of its composition (thanks to the hundreds and hundreds of copies made, plus the many mnay quotes made from it by the earliest church leaders, many of whom knew the apostles personally) the Quranic text cannot be attested to with such accuracy. Caliph Uthman formed the committee which compiled the basic text of the Qur'an as it exists today. Various Muslim centers, like Kufa and Damascus, had begun to develop their own traditions for reciting and writing down the Qur'an. Uthman feared that the nascent Islamic empire would fall apart in religious controversy if everyone did not have access to the original text of Qur'an. Sometime during the end of his reign, the committee compiled the text. Uthman had it copied and sent copies to each of the Muslim cities and garrison towns, commanding that variant versions of the Qur'an be destroyed, and only the version he gave out used. Uthman is not even recognised as a Caliph by the Shia, many of his governors were accused of corruption and misrule, some of his kinsmen were also involved in the murder of a son of Abu Bakr, the first caliph, which further alienated many influential Muslims. Abu Bakr's daughter Aisha, MUHAMMAD'S WIDOW, was particularly vehement in her denunciations of Uthman, yet the text he and his committee formulated is accepted by all! Even though many friends of Muhammed were furious at his decision to demand they hand over their personal copies of their prophet's teachings, and horrified that he dare destroy many. (Some of these variants have turned up in Yemen since a big discovery in the 1970s but are being hidden from the Muslim world).
In short, the Muslim view of Jesus is severely flawed as it is based on poor teaching. If you want to know about Jesus, go to the original documents, the New Testament.

You may need to read up on Hebrew folk lore...
GOD knocked up MARY and nine months later his child, JESUS, was born.
    -
Most likely, what really happened was a Hebrew priest knocked up a 12 year old girl named Mary who was betrothed to a man named Joseph, so the priest had to make up the "emasculate conception" story to keep Joe from cutting his throat… ;~)

Allah has no son daughter or partner Jesus (peace be upon him) never proclaimed he was god christians believe this because of the miracles he did but jesus didnt do them allah did through him He Was a Prophet

"Christ, the son of Mary, was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how God makes His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!" (5:75).

He [Jesus] said: 'I am indeed a servant of God. He has given me revelation and made me a prophet; He has made me blessed wheresoever I be; and He has enjoined on me prayer and charity as long as I live. He has made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable. So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!' Such was Jesus the son of Mary. It is a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute. It is not befitting to (the majesty of) God that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is" (19:30-35).

This is a little different approach to Islam, but Muslims and Mormons should seriously consider the following admonition from the Apostle Paul. In Galatians chapter 1:6-9 Paul said. God's Nature

    Gal 1:6-9

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
    NIV
Both Islam and Mormonism received their religions from angels, they both clearly contradict the obvious teachings of the Bible. Both religions are false and under the influence of a demonic power. The Apostle Paul warned us about Satan, that he is able to present himself as an angel of light. The only thing that protects us from false teaching is the written word of God, the Bible. It is the standard by which all other books must be judged.

In response to Alfred Brown's comment, "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."

Please read the whole context of that verse:

    John 10:22-42 KINGS JAMES VERSION

22And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

    35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

39Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

40And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

41And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

42And many believed on him there.

In the verse: 30 I and my Father are one. Clearly reveals the truth.

    Also;

The biggest way that you can tell Jesus was God was that Jesus claimed the right to forgive sins (Matthew 9:1-8; Luke 7:48,49)

This makes sense only if He really was the God whose laws are broken and whose love is wounded in every sin. In the mouth of any speaker who is not God these words would imply what I can only regard as a silliness unrivalled by any other character in history

The images Jesus used of himself - the Good Shepherd, the Light of the World, the Bread of Life, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the true Vine, and the Resurrection - point to divinity, especially in the contexts in which he used them and when compared with similar associations in the Old Testament. He would send the Holy Spirit to live in his disciples (John 15:26; 16:7). He accepted Thomas' acknowledgment, "My Lord and my God" (John 20:28,29)

To know him was to know God (John 8:19; 14:7); to see him was to see God (John 12:45; 14:9); to believe in him was to believe in God (John 12:44); to receive him was to receive God (Mark 9:37); to hate him was to hate God (John 15:23); and to honour him was to honour God (John 5:23).

"I am the truth" (John 14:6).

Either this man was, and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool; you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.

I feel like Alfred you should really pray about what you have said also.

May God reveal to you his truth.

    God Bless you

I cannot think of a single incident when Jesus claimed to be God. But I can point to many incidences when He was accused of blasphemt, he was worshipped (and he accepted that) and he he did things that only God could do. Jesus never claimed to be God but the bible story points to him being God the Son.
