Help answer this question below.

Can you pick up fat tailed gerbils by the base of their tail? I know in jirds and mongolin gerbil it still runs a risk of it breaking off.. but the fat tailed gerbil has a much different tail :S

    I suggest you don't.
    Pick it up safely but not by the tail.
