I have no problem with giving a newbie a bit of a break, IF they ask good questions, Oh look, you just did have some points :-)

It's against AB policy to beg for points. Don't be so concerned about the points. You can't buy anything with them, trade them in for anything and you don't get rewarded for them. Just keep asking and answering thoughtful questions and you'll get plenty of points. Welcome to AB.

I like answering questions, and up grading the question. It seems a better practice than just upgrading without a answer.

If a newbie wants more points, he or she should ask more questions and give more answers, so members can give points. comments dont gain points. when you ask a question it has longevity and could keep gaining points for years. comments dont build points at all. if points are important, thats what I suggest.
