How can an escalator remain an escalator if its not ecalating?? Allright...did stairs move ever?? Well, as far as I know they are always still. Moreover, we use stairs for both the purpose, either goin up or comin down n it's not the same thing with escalators n what I call "De-escalators". n no point in comparing these with Elevators because that again is a single m/c serving both purposes. Anyways, to me, logically, for coming down we use "De-escalators" not escalators. n yes, this ques. also might be credited to the funniness of English language.
