  • The new Battlestar Galactica...no question at all for myself. I watched an episode of the old series a couple of weeks ago ( which when it first aired, I thought was the absolute bomb and a fav) and now...I feel that in comparison to the new version airing on TV now...it's the absolute bomb as in how the hell can I watch this old drivel.
  • There are very few if any for sure. Godfather II was pretty decent, and I've heard good things about 3:10 to Yuma which I haven't seen yet, I think also the sequels in the star wars trilogy as well as Lord of the Rings were at least on par with the first films.

A remake of silent films generally is considered better, perhaps because we're more familiar with sound films. Sequels generally suffer. Now, there are some sequels that are very good (POTC), but I wouldn't say they're better than the originals. I'm an old-time film buff in my mid-60s; I've watched an enormous amount of films of all eras.
  • Okay here's a real oldie but goodie classic 1941 "Maltese Falcon" Earlier version 1931 . 31 version was very good but 41 one is a true classic.
