I own an Ipod video.... It occasionally freezes up on me .... cant shut down or anything.... is this common with ipods?

turn you hold switch on and then back to off(no orange showing)the hold the menu and center button in until it resets...it should go back to normal

Mine did that once. Freaked me out. After the battery died, and I re-charged it, it went back to normal and hasn't happened since.

I think it is a common occurance. Though it's never happened to my iPod, my sister has complained about the same problem. I don't know if there is much you can do about it...it just fixes itself.
