  • Perl is a beautiful name! Given those choices, I would opt for Pearl first, Irene second and Esther would be my last choice.
  • Esther means star, I like that name
  • In order: 1. Esther 2. Pearl 3. Irene
  • I love Pearl. I think its really unique and I really like it.
  • Irene. It means peace. Pearl and Esther are names for very old ladies. They were popular from about 1895 to 1930, and after that no one used them. Others in that category: Edna, Mildred, Olive, Myrtle, Ruby........ Irene isn't dated. It doesn't belong to any era.
  • I like the name Pearl the best.
  • Pearl Irene and then Esther...I like Pearl best because to me it is the prettiest of these three names.
  • I love Esther. It is way out in front for me. Pearl and Irene are both pretty, but I think Esther is a very cool name.
  • I think they all sound old.
  • Pearl-its my wifes name, Lovely Pearl
  • The youngest of my 4 daughters is named Esther Pearl - we call her Essie. She is 3 and it suits her down to the ground! A lot of people balk at the older names and gave us a hard time about choosing them but we love them and they feel really grounded to us. The girls love their names and that is the real litmus test. We have Grace Elizabeth (Gracie), Harriet Jane (Hattie), Mabel Rose (Mabel or Rosie) and Esther Pearl (Essie).
  • D'you know? I think I like all of them. They're quite old sounding names. Which make them sort of quirky. I like Pearl the best.
  • Esther reminds me of this deaf girl I knew. Pearl reminds me of my great grandmother's name. And Irene reminds me of that movie "Me, Myself, and Irene" But I think I like Pearl the best.
  • I prefer Pearl .. very pretty feminine name!

We have Grace Elizabeth (Gracie), Harriet Jane (Hattie), Mabel Rose (Mabel or Rosie) and Esther Pearl (Essie). I love both Esther and Pearl. I like Irene a lot as well but I tend to use nick names and it doesn't have one that really appeals to me. That is the only downside to it, in my opinion. My girls and I love the children's book "The Princess and the Goblin" by George MacDonald. The princess in that book is Princess Irene.
  • I like Esther the best, you can make lots of nicknames out of it. I too decided I didn't want common names. My daughters name is Lillian Rose(Lily) I picked this out when I was 8yrs old and told my hubby he had no choice in the matter, it was ok though because he loved it too, Only later when my Dad brought it to my attention, did I realize they were both flowers.lol. I just loved the name Lily and my middle name is Rose..Thank you for not adding another John, Bob, Hannah or Emma to the crew...:)
  • Irene Esther or Pearl Irene would be my first two preferences.
  • Personally I like the sound of Esther, than Pearl. But I like the meaning of Irene, it means peace, Esther, star and Pearl (obviously), pearl
  • Irene is an awesome name.
  • ARE YOU GIVING BIRTH TO A 90 YR OLD????
  • Of the 3, I like Pearl the best. I have a great Aunt named "Easter Pearl"
  • They all sound old. Not in a good way. But congrats on not picking an overused, cliched name like ashley, brittany or nicole.
  • I like Esther. My name is Caroline Esther and I love it. I really hate it when people say its an old granny name. It's too bad they can't appreciate such a beauty name. It's inspiring to know that I was named after a Queen who stood up and represented her people, saving them from distruction. I am really proud of my name. You know, I really think there are way too many Katie's, Allisons, Abigails, Sarah's, Jessica's, Nichole's, Jennifer's, ect. People don't appreciate old meaningful names anymore. Really? name my kid a popular cookie cutter name? Like the over-rated (and over priced) stucco developments booming around everywhere? No, I, personally, love and adore my meaningful and beautiful name. I would highly recomend naming a child Esther, who knows maybe she'll become the next best person that ever impacted the world.
  • I think "Irene" would be best for a young girl. Pearl and Esther, in my mind are "older lady" names. Things may be changing, but that's my take on it. ;-)
