  • Criminal is for punishment like jail time, probation, and the such. Civil is strictly monetary, like The People's Court. Not 100% on this, but so so so close can see that 7 pin wobbling a touch.
  • theres not much diffrence all the way around the law because in a sence you cant fight the law it allways wins 1 way or another your going to spend your money to win or lose. crimnal is fedral and you get jail time as to civil you realy havent done any thing wrong enless you fail to do as the judge tells you to do.
  • There actually is a big difference. Criminal law holds the Crown (prosecution) responsible for the burden of proof to prove the accused guilty beyond a reasonable doubt whereas in civil law the plaintiff has to prove the defendant guilty on a balance of probabilities. The burden of proof is still on the plaintiff, though, although it's not as hard to prove as a criminal case. Civil laws are more private and are handled by the provincial government (at least in Canada). Criminal law affects the whole country and is handled by the federal government. I can only speak for the Canadian legal system. I am just saying all of this based on memory from what I learned in Law class, so it might not be a good idea to trust my answer. ;) I think I did a pretty good job at answering, though. If not, please tell me so I can improve. :)
