  • I'd confront them first.
  • if they are endangering you, then yes. if they are endangering only themselves, then let them continute, and then laugh at them when they bust their ass.
  • I'd confront them and say that if they don't stop, they'll be reported - they may be my friend but I'm assuming that I have a higher responsibility to keeping whatever the thing is safe than I do to allowing them to be lazy... If they continue to do it, I'd report them.
  • Being QA (quality assurance) in a highly dangerous (aviation maintenance) job, especially with everyone being my friend, makes it tough. but they all know, when i have the white hat on, you cant have friends. these are lives at risk here, not only theres, but pilots and civilians.
  • I've said this before here, but their ass is grass as far as I'm concerned.
  • Yes, I believe it is a duty to report them. They are not only putting them selves in danger, but they put other in danger. For example someone that can create a fire hazard, and they cause a fire to start, they are not only endangering themselves, but all others that share the building or facilities with them.
  • i worked a very dangerous job, though many don't realize how dangerous it is. i was in the trash business. there are serious injuries every day and deaths all the time. it's easy to understand why when you know that i had 1000 stops per day and averaged anywhere between 110 to 125 stops per hour working by myself in a right hand drive truck. plenty of opportunity for accidents when moving that quickly and dealing with that kind of filth.
  • You've already tried to talk to them haven't you? And they've not listened, so you've tried to be nice and do the decent thing (even though you didn't need to do this), so I think you've given them a chance and they've not taken it so report them. If what they are doing is dangerous in any way, then you're not doing them any favours by keeping your mouth shut.
  • I would report them - friends are friends and work is work.. Your job puts bread on the table.. and you could get into trouble if you dont report it. Always cover your back and dont get screwed covering someone else's if they are in the wrong.. my opinion. Sorry!
