    john pennington.

    My wife makes the best homemade cornbread in the world.

    Its a family receipe handed down from generation to generation.

    Her hot cornbread, just out of the oven, is the best smell on earth.

    Every time i have cornbread at the Cracker Barrel or other restaurants, i think of my wife's homemade cornbread.

    This is southern cornbread, no sugar added here.

    The smell drives me crazy.

    Teen Spirit and it reminds me of Kurt Cobain. Just kidding.

    Strawberry Perfume Oil (The Body Shop). I wore it a lot when I was younger. I always think of the time when a guy I dated asked me if I had slept in his bed the night before (he got stuck working late and crashed at his parents and I was hanging out with his roomie and was too tired to drive home). I told him I had in fact slept there and he got this dreamy, smiley, look and said "my pillow smells like your hair". It was corny but cute.

    It also reminds me of these bath crystals had when I was little. They came in a plastic strawberry shaped container and turned the bath water pink. It smelled soooo good.

    Yes, certain colognes or perfume remind me of people I have know that have worn them;

    And this is going to sound odd, but the smell of diesel exhaust in the rain reminds me of France;

    Chlorine smell from indoor pools remind me of university;

    Cocoa butter smell reminds me of my husband; and

    coffee and bacon smell, like if both are being made at the same time remind me of my grandma's house.

    I know it's weird but that pink soap smell from school bathrooms always makes me think of my elementary school cafeteria, among other things.

    All my friends' houses have a certain smell that takes me back kind of.
