    They are all basils but the all taste different. Some are more licorice flavored or herbier, grassier. They are just different flavors of basil

    I tried Holy Basil once and detested the smell. Thai Basil has a lighter, crisper taste that the Sweet or Italian Basil. Try the Purple Basil too.
