Is there shopping cart software out there that will keep users on my site instead of being redirected to a third party shopping cart?

    I have used several over the years and have found the Merchant Metrix shopping cart is the easiest to use.

    The categories and product pages are search engine friendly and all the URLs end with .html.

    Yes, loads of them. There are Open Source packages available but what you get depends on your host and whether you can run ASP or PHP.

    If the latter then I can recommend Zen Cart and Cube Cart. Cube is easier to work with but has less options. Both have very good support fora for when you get stuck.

    Both allow various different Payment Gateways and there are addins for many others.
