Heck, I'd live underground just for the cool factor! Do I get to have a secret entrance hidden by a waterfall? And a laser deathtrap in the elevator! My second choice, if I can't have an underground lair, is a submarine: http://www.ussubs.com/submarines/phoenix_1000.php3 Torpedos and cruise missles have to be added aftermarket, though.

Would living underground save energy? It sounds like it would use more energy. It would have to cost a lot of energy to keep things running, since you will have to leave the lights on all day since there will be no natural light, and there most be a lot of other things needed to survive underground that would suck up energy. Is there some sort of study that says living underground saves energy? A link to such study, or info would be helpful.

I have claustrophobia and need open windows so I can see the sky.....living underground would not work for me.

Some say my heads is sometimes in the ground already. There, or some other dark hole. Never can keep it straight. Either way, it took a lot of energy thinking about this. Maybe the key to saving energy is to simply stop thinking. Hmmmmm......

No, no reason to, there is enough energy on this planet to support us for eons. The only problem now is that we don't like change unless we have to, that time hasn't arrived yet...although we are getting closer.

No, I'm not a mole.

No, first of how could living underground saves energy? 2nd, considering that I live in a high earthquake prone zone, I wouldn't since living underground is dangerous when an earthquake occurs.
-
No, but I'd live underground to have my dreamhouse w/ multiple levels, hidden passages, and all kinds of funky stuff that'd cost millions to build.....so I could put a 1979 single-wide ratty ass trailer over the entrance, where a closet had an elevator going to the "real" house underground.

Heck, I'd do it to waste energy. I LOVE the dark.

solar tubes? but your underground, whats the point of having solar when your going to be living in complete darkness? LED still needs energy to be powered unless you have some type of electric generator. THEN you will be saving energy

Yes , I'd love it
