Help answer this question below.

Windows ME boots normally, but I can't launch any programs. What could be wrong?

    To give better advice, I and others would have to know exactly what you mean by "I can't launch any programs". Most importantly, if you get an error message, we would need to know its exact contents.

    My general advice is to do the following, in no particular order:
    a. Run Scandisk to check for hard disk errors
    b. Run anti-virus and anti-adware/spyware programs to check for malware (viruses and such) - I think that most likely your problem is malware-related
    c. If the problem started after you made a particular change with your computer (such as installing a new program), undo that change
    d. Reinstall a program and see if it launches
