I had the same problem when installing my system, check to make sure it’s connected to the battery correctly, check fuses on amp and wire from amp to battery, make sure the wires from the sub to the amp are connected correctly, and last but most importantly make sure it’s connected to your deck (radio) properly. If this gets it working good, if you get a hiss then check the gain/level/volume knobs, if that doesn’t work after you get a hiss , then you probably need a better amp to push your sub, check the specs on your sub if that’s the case. If all fails take it to your buddy that has his system already installed and try hooking his/hers stuff to yours and vise versus. If that fails take it to a professional. Good Luck! Happy Thumping.

No sound at all? Not even a small hiss?

Are there power lights on the amp?

Are any gain/vol knobs to turn up?

If you have an odd number of speakers, then it's surely not phase cancellation...
