  • I'd say by the picture it's too late.
  • Got a tarp? lol! Sorry I know that doesn't help much. Do you actually know where it is leaking from? Can you drape a large tarp over the peak and get it over the leak area? The leak is more than likely at the ridge or transition between pitches. Leaks have a habit of being anywhere as they creep along inside your attic space before finding another way down. The tarp could save your floors right now. And then you could climb into the attic and see if you can find the wet spot. If you find a wet spot, it could come from there or anywhere higher up to the ridge. Also check your rook jacks as those are all holes that could be not sealed well.
  • Mansard roof
  • Well,a wall can be patched with hydrolic cement while the water is pouring in from it...they have to have something similar for leaking roofs.
  • Its probably the windows. We had a roof put on 3 years ago and just started to notice water damage around one primary window (then all the windows) on teh 2nd floor. There was a gape between the roof shingles and the lower part of the window---they didn't seal it correctly. Now I'm trying to do research on how best to repair and/or pursue with the roofer who of course doesnt' think its their fault even though caulking the problem stopped most of the water problem immediately. Frustrating. And I was so happy with our nice, easy to maintain home. Now, I'm really worried about getting this pervasive issue under control & quickly before too much other damage occurs!
