Baking soda sprinkled liberally in your shoes is an excellent way to keep your shoes odor free. If your running shoes are just worn casually on a day to day basis, then washing them with Febreeze for laundry and letting them air dry is a good idea as stated. However, if you wear your running shoes as I do, for distance running, marathon training, etc., do not wash them in the washing machine. Washing them can begin to cause a break down in the fit of the shoe, they can stiffen, etc. and can cause blistering and soreness. (I learned from experience unfortunately). I have found that baking soda helps keep my feet and shoes odor free and also seems to help with excess sweating, keeping my feet drier.

put them in a pillow case and tie the top and wash them in the washer but dont put them in the drier. another way could be putting talcum powder in your trainers over night. you can buy a foot spray now to stop trainers smelling and they even have special socks which you can wear. maybe i should tell my brother this lol

you can pour in some baking soda and let it sit overnight before dumping it out.

I use Odor Eaters spray, or some type of anti fungal spray. Then I let them sit overnight.

There are many Dr. Scholls products that help with that. There are pads, powders, and sprays for that kind of thing. Works wonders!

It sometimes depends what brand it is. I know that a lot of people are having problems with New Balance. People are complaining that thier shoes smell like a cat sprayed them. It's an aweful acris smell. But, what it is, is a defect in the polyurethane. If they're fairly new still and this is the problem, try returning them. I see a lot people return New balance with this problem. It's a HORRIBLE smell.
