The only reason why he should have more than one state is if he did work in more than one taxable state. Even if he lives in a different state than where he works, it would show on his W2 that his income was only in the state where the income was earned. Ex: Work in Michigan, live in Ohio. Income state is Michigan. 100% of income is to Michigan, 0% of income to Ohio.

You're reading I am in the process of printing W-2's for our employess. One of my employess has his state wages broken into 2 #'s. 1 is listed in Box 16 and the other is listed below that. The 2 #'s = his total wages. Why is his different than everyone elses?
