Help answer this question below.

I'm trying to quit smoking. I'm 23 and have smoked for about 8 years. I don't want the patch or gum would it be better to just try to stop all of a sudden or to lower the amount of cigarettes gradually?

    No matter which way you decide to do it it's not going to be easy (Cold Turkey is tough). Take it day by day, the first 2 weeks are the hardest. Give yourself a reward every month you don't smoke! =)

    Theres a reall good book called "The only way to stop smokin" by Allen Carr. Its got a really high success rate. Worth a shot.

    I quit smoking cold turkey 2 weeks ago yesterday. I practice quitting a lot before I got it down. Had to build up my will power against the cravings then the last week. I just tried to see how long I could go without smoking that day starting in the morning. Skip the morning cigarette. Stay away from smokers and your smoke supplies.Gum and Lollipops helped with the hand to mouth habit. Keep busy! And think about what you are going to do with all the extra money you are going to save not buying cigarettes.

    lose someone you love because of that habit, you automatically stop. it happened to me. i'm quitting. but i want him back, cause he is my life...
