Do you have to have a cdl to drive a short school bus in maryland. i only want to use it for personal use.

How much does a shortbus weigh? Class A and B licenses deal with that... Class C CDL license is usually for any vehicle that can transport 16+ passengers (including the driver), or transports hazardous materials. Otherwise, no CDL license is needed (State-varied, of course)

if you want it for personal use then tag it as a motorhome ,camper,etc.then you will not need a cdl,then it will not be considered a for hire vehicle.
