Depends on your version of Inernet explorer (if thats what you are using)
At the top of the open browser window:
Tools >> Internet Options >> Under Browsing history >> Delete temporary files, history etc.

If you are using an older version of IE its still under tools. Deleting cookies doesn't really speed up, deleting temporary internet files does :) You can do that under the same area.
See the screen snip I took for you.

All browsers have similar cleaning settings:

    Tools->Options->Privacy

But they all clean the cookies and history files incompletely and you have to set these options manually.

I've Mil Shield - a very good privacy shield against all kinds of cookies and many others online tracks.

Look in your Browser's Tools section for Options or Preferences and in there look for a tab on Privacy or Cookies. There should be something there you can choose to clear cookies and history. If you want your computer to be quicker, you might check about Disk Cleanup and Defragmenting. That can speed things up as well as having less processes running at one time.

it doesnt make your computer go faster, it just clears some of the memory. but to do so, you just go to your internet browser options/properties, and then on preference, they should have something that should erase your cookies for you

Cookies are actually privacy threat because they can contain sensitive information like your name and password for web mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc.

I clean my cookies with Mil Shield, my privacy shield since 2 - 2,5 years. But it allows to keep all cookies you want so after that I have no problems with the sites loading.

If you want to delete all cookies including flash cookies that the browsers don't delete try Mil Shield. It is really worth the effort!

So your computer is running slow and you are rapidly losing patience with crashes, slow applications that run out or resources? This sounds like you have errors in your registry. In lay persons terms that means GET RID OF YOUR COOKIES!. These are the "crumbs" that are left behind on your computer after you visit a website. Cookies are used by websites in many ways to both enhance your web surfing experience and to track your activity. If you are worried about your privacy, you have a good reason to be nervous. Cookies store information and update your profile when you return to that website. So learning how to delete your Cookies helps your computer to operate better and protects your privacy in the long-run.

    1. First clean your computer of the cookies by clicking on START, go to your CONTROL PANEL, then INTERNET OPTIONS.

    2. Notice that the second row down says DELETE COOKIES. Click on that and then click on DELETE TEMPORARY FILE. When a little box comes up and says DELETE OFFLINE, you don't have to click on that. Only click on DELETE COOKIES. If the box says DELETE TEMPORARY FILES, you can choose to do that as well.

    3. Now that your cookies are gone and temporary files are cleaned, you can adjust your Microsoft Internet Explorer(as long as it is Explorer 6.0 and higher) to block cookies. To do this, open Internet Explorer and choose TOOLS.

    4. Choose INTERNET OPTIONS. Click on the PRIVACY TAB. A sliding bar allows you to adjust the setting. From here you can adjust the cookie settings by going up and down the scale that you see. As you go up the scale, the cookies setting becomes more restrictive. The highest setting will block all cookies and even disable existing cookies on your computer from being read by websites.

    5. The lower scale setting will allow your computer to accept the cookies. Since cookies can enhance a website or in some cases may even be required, you can manually override your settings and type in certain websites that you will allow accepting cookies from.

    6. Override automatic cookie handling by clicking the ADVANCED button and following the directions on the pull down menu.

Although others have indicated how to delete your cookies, I'm afraid it won't speed up your computer in any noticeable way.
