What is the weather like in south New zealand in aug as we are thinking about goign there for our honeymoon

My son and his wife honeymooned in North and South New Zealand in October 2005. They said it felt like our May in the US. They sure had the time of their lives. They rented a mini motor home with a kitchen and bath in it. Beautiful pictures.

August is around the end of our winter. The seasons seem to have been changing lately so its been weird weather wise. I live in Christchurch in the south island.

The seasons have changed a lot in NZ lately. The North Island is usually warmer than the South Island but is very wet. The South Island has the best scenery. THe North Island has volcanoes. I don't think anyone could predict what the weather is like in August because of the changes. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
