This depends. If someone writes a note to you in a birthday card and you give it to someone else, the receiver would probably figure you're passing it on. This might give them the idea you don't care enough to buy them a card. In this circumstance it is socially unacceptable in most places. If someone sends you a card with no writing in it then it's probably okay. As long as it's undamaged no one will ever figure it out. Just make sure the person you received it from isn't at the party! As a general rule, as long as no one knows it's a recycled card, then it's okay to re-give it. However if the condition is bad or there's writing, it might cause problems in your friendships.
