  • You might want to check this site out. All of my experience with taming parrots is with hand-fed babies so I'm not sure if 2 years old is a bit late to start or not. Best of luck to you! Parrots are wonderful and very rewarding birds to work with. http://www.quakerparrots.com/training/parrot-taming-that-works/
  • They are little characters, aren't they? LOL!! You might try following the advice on this webpage on biting Quakers: http://www.quakerparrots.com/training/how-to-prevent-biting-in-quaker-parrots/
  • It sounds like he is also resource guarding his cage. You may need to clip (have clipped) his wings, if you haven't already; and let him out more. Be sure that he is always "sitting" lower than your head...so that you are "on top" so to speak. Keep working on it. Try some hand feeding and also letting him eat off of your plate (if you are eating a truly HEALTHY DIET...fruits, veggies, no fried or greasy foods...no fast foods, no soda, coffee, sugar substitute in anything) Other suggestions I read here were excellent too. Make sure you are spending Quality Time with him every single day or in the evenings...30 minutes or more daily...ALSO offer toys that you play with together a small hard ball to roll back and forth.... Good luck...I know it can be frustrating, but hopefully with some work he'll come around and realize you are the source of all good things in his life!
