Our registration form has actually required people to be 14 for over a year now. It reduces legal liability that we are exposed to from youngsters sharing information that they shouldn't.

"1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE; MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT
a. Description of Service. Answerbag.com is where people share knowledge on various topics and enjoy sharing in the Answerbag community.
b. Age Requirement. You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service."
14 is a pretty good minimum age.
some of the stuff on here can be kinda racey.....even in the "normal" sections
14 is the but unfortunately there isn't a maximum age, which is really a shame. I would set it at probably 55 to keep a good number of the crazies out.
There's a age limit? I didnt know. I've known people here who under the age of 14.If you're under 14,don't tell anyone.
Not sure, but some of the topics that crop up on this website are at least "R" rated. Some people have a need to appeal to prurient interests via this website.
Search me. 13 year olds haven't harmed answerbag any more or less than any other age range.
Some of the best contributors on this site over the last couple of years have been very young teens.
A couple as young as twelve at the time.
It currently stands at 14 years of age. I would prefer that it be 16.
no it's still 14..hasn't changed and I am not sure what the reasoning behind that is although I can make a few guesses. i think 14 is too young for some of the sensitive issues on here. I think it should be 16. However, how many people actually pay attention to the TOS when they sign up. It says in paragraph 1..MUST BE 14 but since there are 11 year olds on here.. people don't seem to care.. As for not telling your age.. that may work for a while but eventually you will screw up and mention it in an answer or question and someone WILL report you. Follow the rules. CL's have enough to do without having to deal with underage people who choose not to follow the rules.
Yes the minimum age limit is 14 years.
Actually, there are two:
1) general age requirement: 14
"b. Age Requirement. You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service."
Source: Answerbag's Terms of Use (from the Answerbag Staff)
http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/15
2) age requirement for AB4Adults: 18
"Age Verification
You must be this tall to ride the ride
I'm under 18, please take me back to the front page where it's safe and warm
I'm at least 18 and recognize that there could be explicit, objectionable content behind these doors"

3) I think it has to do with the law in the USA, so it can probably not be changed.
