  • Do both. The one in the States should have the best info on deals and proceedures (Airplane tickets, passports, etc.) And, the one at your destination should have the best info on local matters (The best attractions, places to avoid, etc.) Since a lot of travel agencies specialize in regions (Europe, Caribbean, and so on), you can probably find one that has offices here as well as contacts in the place you're going. It'll cost a bit more, but it's better than blowing the entire vacation.
