  • A pirated DVD will almost never have an actual label on it. Instead it will probably be on a DVD-R disc, and will have a very unprofessional personally-made label or will have a hand-written label. If the DVD has an actual cover than chances are that it is the real thing. If not than chances are it isn't the real thing.

  • My wife bought a DVD set offa eBay a while back...the case, cover, and disc labels all looked perfect but the DVD's were burned not pressed (colored on the bottom not silver). That was the only clue. They used a lightscribe drive to print the DVD art directly on the disc (not a cheezy label) and high quality printer for the outside cover. She called the people who made the DVD set, made sure that it SHOULD have been pressed, and gave them the info of the guy she bought them from.
