How do i change the fuel filter on a 2001 ford expedition and relieve the pressure on the fuel lines

Look in the fuse block under the hood for a fuel pump relay. Remove it and then start the vehicle. It either won't start or will start and die. This will relieve the fuel pressure. The fuel filter is on the inside of the frame rail under the drivers side front door. A special tool is required to remove the connections on the filter. You can buy or maybe even borrow one from an auto parts store. See attached picture.

There isn't very much pressure behind the lines, remove the lines slowly and let the fuel drain out of the line in a pan, then remove the filter and install your new one, theres nothing to it.
