my brake lights don't come on. i own a F-150 and i replaced the bulbs and the brake light switch. is there something else i can try?

You're reading 1999 ford f-150 v8 4.6l and it is bogging down at idle and again around 45-50 mph. it has yet to die, but i would like to know if anyone has seen or heard or had similiar problem, and what was your cause and effect?
