I have it in a book that is called 'The Bachman Books' which contains four stories, 'Rage', 'The Long Walk', 'Roadwork', and 'the running man'. Rage was certainly different , I think the mob mentality it displays, as in the children start to see Charles as a hero type figure, could happen , but feel they would have stopped the situation before it reached the point it did. I would have to say my favorite of these four stories is 'The Long Walk" followed by 'the running man'.

I've read the "Bachman Books" as well and "The Long Walk" is my absolute favorite SK writing ever. I could read it over and over. I think his shorter books and stories turn out, for the most part, to be his best. Sometimes I could kill his editor!

Yes, I've read it - -A strong work, powerful, doesn't let you go. King's forte so often is his ability to create believable characters, evident, again, in " Rage."

Steven Kings' book "RAGE" was the rage to me personally. He also wrote "The Bachman Books" under the same acronym. What did you think about them?

I loved "Rage", as I usually like all this more realistic stories. Although, for some reason it reminds me of "Here There Be Tygers," which isn't like this story at all.
