  • A diver may not block a driveway when parking. You could contact your local police and advise them of the parking infraction and they can issue a citation, but you might simply want to talk to your neighbor first and let him know this is a problem for you. You might be able to resolve it amiably and without any formal intervention.
  • Start with politely asking him to move his vehicle and not to park it there due to the obvious. Should end there. If not and you get a profane response then get the authorities involved.
  • I would say something to your neighbor and if the situation doesn't resolve then I would take it further. Do you live in an apartment complex or a subdivision? If so, for apartments you can take your complaint to the office. For subdivisions, look in your HOA set of rules to see what it says about parking and cars and then contact whoever is in charge of the HOA. Other than that I'm not sure what else you can do other than to park your car in the same manner in front of his/her home.
  • It depends on your local ordinances. I'd call the sheriff/police department and see what they have to say about the situation, if your town's web site doesn't have any answers.
  • In most municipalities, drivers are not allowed to block driveways. Call your local by-law enforcement department to get your neighbour ticketed and/or towed. He should really know better.
  • The proper steps to take begin with a ''neighborly appeal''. Ask him kindly if he would move his vehicle. Explain that it impedes the safe use of your driveway. If that fails call the police and explain exactly the same thing to them. Also explain that you have advised the neighbor of the same previously to no avail.
