Well there are several reasons that video conferencing has never taken off as a common method of business communication.

First of all, everyone needs to be sitted down at their computer desk, and have a internet connection. A slow connection will generally generate a bad picture, so they will need a good broadband connection unless they dont need to see eachother's faces move quickly and nicely. They also would all need webcameras and a comfortable sitting place, because generally business meetings are quite long.

Furthermore, you would need to all get the details of how to contact eachother via video conferencing to eachother, either by phone or e-mail. Thats extra planning. All of them would usually need the same conferencing program, though there are some that can connect to most conferencing networks.

Furthermore, it is not really an option as a customer service type of communication, just because it is not plausible at all when compared to chat messaging, telephone, or email to your customers.
