The coilpack on that vehicle only has two coils the coil that fires #4 spark plug also fires #1. You could have a problem with the plug or wire on #1. I would get a new plug and wire for both 1 and 4.

You're reading 1996 Ford Contour, 2.0L 4 cyl. has bad miss in #4 cyl. No fire from coil pack to that cyl. I replaced coil pack and got slight improvement but still running rough. Switched spark plug to #4 fr
