  • You have until April 15 to file your taxes. If you do nothing and dont file, the IRS can penalize you for not filing. If you dont know how to file your taxes, dont worry, there are companies that can file them for you. Go to H&R block, Jackson Hewitt, or find a good CPA.
  • I've been told you need to always file, incase you owe money to the irs. If you don't earn alot of money then you probably don't owe any money. Sorry I'm not really sure, If I were you I would file, I mean because you can get some money back. Go to jackson hewitt at walmart or other tax preparation company. I wish I could be more help.
  • Provided your financial situation is fairly basic, it's not difficult at all to do your own taxes. The IRS provides forms for download on their website along with instructions. The forms you will definitely need are the W2, provided by your employer, and the 1040, which is where you declare all your income. If you're not comfortable filling out the forms, you can try tax-preparation software like TurboTax or TaxCut, which will also provide you with instructions for filing your state taxes. And if even the software is too intimidating, there are many, many professional tax preparers who can help you to file. Obviously, that's the most expensive way to go, but it beats getting audited. If you owe more taxes and you don't file, the government *will* eventually come knocking. On the other hand, you might be owed a refund, which will most often cover the cost of tax preparation.
