Help answer this question below.
Basically: Dropshipping is a very old concept. It can and is being done successfully by some. They streamlined their operations and know what they can and can not move. Bottom line, "they" (the established) will likely CRUSH you if you try to enter their market. If you really want to go this route, first find a niche product market and market the heck out of it...meaning you can't just list it on ebay and get rich. There *is* money to be made in drop-shipping......but not in the form of some cookie-cutter "Follow my <inset number here> step plan and you'll get rich!! (individual results may vary)" program.
Generally, the amount of work it takes to finagle something like this into profit is not worth the effort unless you love the game and have good contacts, resources and financial backing already. If you're curious about the game and purchased an infomercial or ebay book.....quit before you lose more.
I wish I could remember the name of the company, but I can't. I paid several hundred dollars once for a couple years membership to a dropshipper that offered tons of different items. I purchased some myself because it was things that "sell out quickly" (I still have them here after 4 years, can't get rid of it, I'm going to end up giving it away, $200 worth of scrapbooking crap). I listed a few things on Ebay. One thing sold (a sword) and it took the dropshipper 3 weeks to ship it. First they had to spend a week "authorizing" the order, then a week getting it out of stock, and a week packing it. I'm lucky that the purchaser didn't give me bad feedback! I was able to get my money back for my membership and haven't tried it since. This is not to say that there aren't good ones out there. I don't know how you'd investigate different dropshippers (this one claimed to be ebayer's top choice, of course! lol), but I'm sure there are plenty of people who make money using dropshippers. Just be very careful and check the companies out well.

You're reading Dropshipping. Does anyone know much about this. I have looked on the internet and am overloaded with information, but now more confused than ever. Can you really make money out of dropshipping and is there anyone out here who really does?

thanks for your quick and honest reply, I already have a website set up and was thinking of adding things to sell, maybe after advice received, may just try getting a few of my own products on line and see how they go, cheers!
