I tried it on another PC, and couldn't do it myself. When installing Ubuntu, you have to type the amount of MB you want for each sector etc... Try this site for some help: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/installing

WITHIN Windows? You can't. It's like trying to open your refrigerator while standing in your neighbor's kitchen. Installing it ALONGSIDE Windows, booting from the Ubuntu CD/DVD will get you a fairly straight-forward, mostly automated installer.

You could use a virtual PC and install Linux on it. I did it once with VMWare. http://www.vmware.com/

Do you actually mean 'within' Windows, such as running Ubuntu while Windows is also running? Or do you mean having both installed on the same PC and choosing which one you want to boot to at each bootup (known as dual booting)?
