Last month I had to use an old digital camera at work. It uses floppy disks. Just because of that camera I had to request a usb floppy drive for my work notebook.

It was 1998 if I remember right. I was trying to transfer a game from one computer to another.

    It didn't work.

Its been about 7 or 8 years. Who really needs them anymore. Everyone has their own computers, so no need to trasnfer stuff on the disk any more.

A couple months ago. I found one at work, and wanted to see what was on it. It was boring work related crap.

Some three months ago. I was installing an expensive automobile repair software program on one computer. The only way to install the software is this: You place the CD and the floppy on the PC at the same time. The floppy will install and auto destruct at the same time you are installing the software from the CD. They work in coordination. That way they can assure that the CD can only be installed once on that computer and that computer only. That's the best way I have seen in order to control computer piracy.
