It's not gonna happen. All the other suggestions are good for sharing files but iTunes isn't a file, it's a downloaded program.

If you are using Windows (any version) and your iTunes is installed on your laptop, then it has put itself into your laptop's registry. Merely copying your iTunes files to another machine will not allow it to run. You would have to make the appropriate entries in your home computers registry and believe me you don't want to muck about in the Windows Registry without a serious understanding of what you're doing. I've seen experienced techs wipe their whole hard drive and start from scratch rather than try tweaking their registry.

I'm not sure how the Mac world of OS X works but I'm sure it's something similar.

When you get iTunes/Quicktime from Apple what you are actually downloading is a small "installer" file. When you run it, it goes out through your internet connection and grabs the files it needs to install iTunes (and Quicktime) on your machine.

The Itunes installer file can be found for free on most of the discs that come with PC Gamer Magazine/PC World Magazine and others (they shove the latest version on the disc to fill any left-over space). If you run it and it still times out then you are hooped.

Your only other bet is to haul your computer to a buddies place that has a good connection and install it there or find any internet café where they're kind enough to let you plug in to their router vice wireless.

    Hope this helps.

Use a USB thumbdrive copy the file to it and then plug it in the Laptop.(Difficulty: Easy).
    -
You can use a CD (I recommend a CD-RW so you can reuse it over and over). Then burn the file to the disc and put the disc in your laptop. (Difficulty: Medium).
    -
Another way is to use a "Cross over" network cable and use file sharing. If you want details on how to do that just comment and I will reply. (Difficulty: Hard)
    -
If you plan to transfer more then just the installation file I would suggest you use the networking file sharing. For one file its not worth messing around trying to learn how. If its going to be a lot of files it will be worth it.

There are a few ways to network a laptop to a pc. The cheapest is to set up a peer to peer using the network connections wizard ( I'm assuming both machines are XP, you don't say)and then linking them via a LapLink cable, null modem cable or a crossed network cable ( regular patch cord won't work here for a peer to peer). You could also do it via the remote assistance tool using any of the above cabling.
Honestly, you don't sound very computer savvy. Why not just burn the software to disk? I you have no burner on that desktop, it's time you got one. You could also just use s simple jump drive (USB drive). They're dirt cheap these days and you can pick up a 2 gig for under 20 bucks.

not that i have any images, but check your point to point protocol over ethernet if you are using ethernet, or considering it.

Try file sharing through E-Mail? I dont know if that works, and im pretty sure it is illegal

    Try saving to a pendrive(jumpdrive)(Removable Storage Device C: D: A: C: is disk J:)

    use regedit

IDK these are sjust siggestions i am not held responsible for failure ;-)
