I have a 2003 Ford Mustang and it doesn't start. The theft light is also on. What could be wrong?

    The reason that your car is not starting is becuase the theft protection is still on which is also why your theft light is on. You have to turn theft protection off on the vehicle before it will turn on. There should be something about it in your owners manual that tells you how to do it. Sometimes the theft protection can stay on even without the alarm being on if properly equipped.

    To expand on fearlife's answer:

    1) Read the manual! Wow! It actually explains this kind of thing! Really! It does! Amazing eh?
    2) Ford's stupid theft light always flashes. It is only disarmed by sensing the correct chip in the key. If the wrong key is used the vehicle won't start. It sounds like you may have a problem in the system or someone tried to break in. Here's where that free manual they throw in with the car comes in handy. Look in the table of contents or index for theft light, anti-theft system, etc. and it will actually tell you what you can do. It's just amazing what those new-fangled books can tell ya...
