Help answer this question below.
I've heard that the younger you start things the easier they are to comprehend and learn.so If you want your child or such to go into a sport you should star at an early age.so I would say no
No.
If he wants to learn try and teach him! Were going to start trying to teach my son and he is not 3 until the end of Jan!
If the child is developed enough to stand, then it is old enough to ski.
We started both our two boys on skiis at age 3 and 4. We just let them have fun...
you can see our videos of the younger boy, Alex on skis for the first time at 3yrs old.
google search 'Alex skiing at Blanche Takayama 2008#2'
you can watch Alex later in the season in 'Chris and Alex skiing at Hakuba 2008#5'
you can watch Alex one season later still 3 yrs old.
goto Vimeo.com and search 'Chris and Alex skiing at Blanche Takayama, Nagano 2009#2'
kids learn really fast! I think its helpful to put the kids in ski school for the very first time. we only put them in class a couple times. You can watch the older one, Chris in his first lesson. google search 'Chris skiing at Shirakaba Kogen 2007#1' he is wearing #30 and is probably the youngest one in the group lesson. we were just getting started in 2007 so Chris is not wearing a helmet. We all wear helmets now. You could watch how quickly his skiing improves watching our other ski videos.
we are looking forward to the 2010 season!!!
good luck!

Deifnately not I live in Austria and it's part of the schooling here thats why there are a lot of good skiers from Austria, www.freewebs.com/pensionsankev/
That really depends on the three year old. If the child can follow directons and has an intrest in skiing, I would say no. But, if they really don't listen very well, or aren't intrested, I think it would be best to wait a couple years.
I learned to ski at 4 and I'm ripping sick lines and dropping cliffs so maybe 3 is too young, but 4 is alright.
Hi I am a ski/snowboard instructor. keep it fun! altho small motor skills are not fully developed yet I have seen 3 year olds ski, snowboarding which requiers more fine motor skils of the ankels and hips is a lot harder to learn at that age but i have seen a few 4 year olds learn to snowboard. the mountain that i work at does give leasons to 3&4 year olds. any time invested now will have huge rewards in future years, the 4&5 year olds that have been on snow 1 or 2 years advance much quicker than the ones out for the first time. keep it fun, good weather, mild teraine, play games(red light green light, simon says, ect) spend time letting them get use to just walking in the boots and then 1 ski on, just standing on skies for the first time can be challenging even for adults. ski shops sell a small device that clips to the tips of the skies to prevent them from crossing and helps the child to maintain a wedge this can be usefull at this age. ski backward in front of child (no poles you will need both hands free) do not use leashes on children (if you need a leash they are on to steep a terrain for teaching) this permotes bad habits (leaning back, leaning to turn ect..) keep it fun that is why we are out there.

Thanks. My girl is 3, and we really want to teach her. I see that all these ski lessons are offered to children 5 and up, so I was just wondering if we were jumping the gun.
